For those that like them, I found a great weekly dinner planner.
I love these things, but have never found one I like as much as this. The menus look really tasty, interesting and not terribly complicated. Each day includes a salad and dessert and there are shopping lists for the entire week. It also looks like they concentrate on what is seasonal. So I have done the shopping and will start the first one tonight!

Anyone else know of any similar sites?

1. I'd really like to do my own.
I keep telling Bill that we need to sit down on Thursday night and do a menu plan for the following week, so I can do a grocery list. It seems I'm always just winging it and cooking the same things over and over again anymore.

Maybe planning menus will get me out of these doldrums. I haven't been excited about cooking anything in a while. Recently it seems that I would just as soon not cook. Sigh.

2. I've been thinking the same thing.
I'm really in a rut right now. We are having the same five things over and over, which is weird, because we're both really good cooks. I need to break out of the box.

3. I think the big problem is that it's winter
and fresh ingredients just aren't as readily available right now. I miss the excitement of spring and summer produce. Not to mention what days upon days of no sunshine does to my mood.

Hope things get better for you soon, too.

4. I plan but it's often shuffled...
came home one day this week to find out there was an unexpected basketball game. No way to cook around it so I threw a soup together.

I sometimes plan based on what I have remembered to thaw, lol.

I like to add something new so I look for ideas in this forum or in cookbooks. I find it funny when I flip through my own recipe books and find an old favorite that I have not made in a while. The family will act like it's some great new thing! Thank goodness they aren't picky eaters.

9. Sounds like my story.
Every so often I'll memtion to MamaRosa that we need to plan out the weeks meals.

Yeah...end of discussion.

Sometimes I wake up and know exactly what's for dinner, sometimes it's dinner time and I still have no clue.

thanks, I'll check it out.

5. I used to cook that way.
Plan a whole week's meals down to the details, and shop once a week.

Nowadays, it seems that we don't decide about dinner until lunchtime, and walk to the store nearly every day for one thing or another. I need a happy medium.

6. I only get to the store about once a month, so this suits me perfectly.
I shopped for 2 weeks worth of these menus, then bought the usuals. So we will have 10 meals this month from here. Other nights will be leftovers or the usual fare.

I just need to pay attention to the perishables. I love having everything I need for a meal available and I love trying new recipes.

7. I'm afraid I couldn't do it...

I work from home, so I have the wonderful opportunity of going to the kitchen to start a casserole or prepare the loaf for the second rise whenever I think of it.
Quite often we want something specific - but the store's a 30 minute walk away or he drives by it on the way home.

Epicurious is a great site tho'

10. Nice site
The recipes are really yummy. I found a chocolate flourless cookie that looks good.

I'm not much of a supper planner. I tend to eat more during breakfast and lunch and eat light during dinner, salads and soups mostly, or even a protein shake.

But if I had a big family to feed, that site would be ideal.
