Can you fix dressing/stuffing in a crock pot?
I'm downsizing my Thanksgiving this year-turkey wings instead of a whole turkey and Cornish Hens. But ever since I cooked one of the Cornish Hens in a crock pot-I got to thinking about all the dry dressing I've had over the years and began to wonder if there was a way to cook it slowly for more flavor and in order to keep it moist by cooking it in the crockpot.

1. i don't know why not but you won't have the crispy bits
here's a recipe on cooks.com

but you don't have to have dry dressing, just add a bit more broth and baked covered until the last 15 minutes so it won't dry out but will still brown up on top......

2. I have done it but it drys out easily
You actually need to stir it a few times. The first time I did it the parts that touched the crock itself got dry like the crust of bread. You may like that but I thought it was a bit too much. Now I stir it up a few times, add more broth than I think I need and watch it.

I have everything except the poultry seasoning, and it sounds very easy to make, so I'll probably make it tommorrow afternon after my yams. I have dry wheat bread, so I'll substitute that for the white bread (wheat has a heartier flavor anyway)

Indeed I may just use the crockpot for everything anyway as I can cook and sleep in a little while cooking. Tomorrow night I can have my little dinner ready for Friday. Why Friday? I'm going to my Sister's Thursday, and maybe other places besides for dinner.
