Vanilla pudding pie topped w/frozen peaches
Anyone know this recipe? I've searched and cannot find it. Years ago, I made a pie with a graham cracker crust. Bake graham cracker crust, add cooked vanilla pudding, cool, then top with thawed frozen peaches. The peaches were arranged on top and a thickened glaze was made from the liquid from the peaches. Poured over top and allowed to firm up. It looked great and tasted better.

I bet it is 25 years since I made it. Cannot find the recipe. I think the liquid was thickened w/cornstarch or cream of tarter. This ring a bell with anyone? I'd like to make it for Thanksgiving.

I've never seen or heard of it. Shouldn't be too hard to construct if you do it in pieces, tho. You can make the crust, the pudding, and then look up creating a glaze with frozen peaches.

2. Isn't it funny how a recipe lingers in the mind...
....even after decades? I've got a few of those lurking in the brain cells, too.

3. I would guess corn starch; I'm only familiar w/ cream of tarter as leavening.
Is it also a thickener?

(My grandmother made the best cream of tarter biscuits...)

4. should be able to recreate this

As another poster noted, it should be easy to recreate this.

And I ditto it wouldn't have been cream of tartar, rather cornstarch.

Frozen peaches don't usually come with liquid, unless I've missed this somehow. I am thinking it used canned, sliced peaches.
