Are you looking for unique food pairing ideas?
Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 11:10 AM by The empressof all
I came across a terrific site from Belgium that gives some new and interesting ideas about food combining based upon their flavor profiles.

http://www.foodpairing.be/

There's also a nifty little tool for replacement ingredients for recipes.

It's now one of my favorite bookmarks.....

Banana's and Parm.....who would have ever thought?

2. Nice. Maybe now I'll be able to watch shows like "Chopped"
or Top Chef or whatever, where they seemingly randomly throw together things that make me go whaaaa...?

Perhaps there really is a method to their madness, because when the judges taste their concoctions, I expect them to spit the food out but instead they talk about how well the ingredients combine, and I just never get it.

3. It's a bit of a revelation!
I tried Banana's with Parm last night. I took a fruit that was a bit under ripe and sliced it thinly. I sauteed it quickly in just a smidge of butter and topped with a good dusting of the cheese.

It was really, really good. What a quick and simple addition to a meal!

I don't know how soon I'll be trying that Cauliflower/chocolate/nutmeg candy....But move over Green tomato cake, Mama's gonna have a whole new arsenal of unique dishes in her repertoire.
