Healthy Snacks (posted in the right group this time!)
As I try to learn to eat better, I've "discovered"

1. Air-popped popcorn sprayed with "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray.
2. Lowfat smoothies, either that I make or commercially prepared.
3. Bananas.
4. Graham crackers, except it's too easy to overdo!
5. Kashi cereal mixed with lowfat vanilla yogurt.
6. Blue Bunny ice cream bars (no sugar added, sweetened with Splenda.)
7. Toasted English muffins or a toasted slice of homemade whole wheat bread and low-sugar jam.
8. Pita pocket with hummus and sliced veggies or pita flatbread dipped with hummus.

Other ideas?

1. mine:
apples. I go through tons of apples a year.
melba toast (either mine or purchased) with cottage cheese or neufchatel cheese and cucumber and tomato slices
veggies, especially small tomatoes, cucumbers, bell pepper strips, radishes, and mini-carrots.
tomato juices
smoked salmon-cream cheese and celery
brown rice with furikake, especially aji nori furikake (Furikake is a japanese rice seasoning that is used to enhance leftover rice. Aji nori is crumbled nori with powdered shoyu and toasted black sesame seeds.)
instant miso soup

As it happens, these are generally a pick three for breakfast and lunch. Supper is really the only meal I cook much, because of scheduling. So a typical lunch ends up being miso, the smoked salmon and celery and veggies or an apple.

2. I snack on almonds everyday...
good source of healthy fats!

I also like a wedge of whole wheat pita, with a half slice of 2% fat pepper jack cheese and a slice of avocado. Or pita with a little tuna and mayo on it.

I could eat half a bag of grape tomatoes without realizing it!

A slice of ham or turkey deli meat, a little dijon, and a slice of 2% cheese, rolled up.

Can you tell I'm not much into carbs?LOL! Honestly, I found out that carbs really make me hungry. Even whole grains. If I have any kind of breads or starches, they have to be accompanied by fat or protein, or I will have cravings all day! also, I am much more into "food" snacks, rather than sweets. I just don't have much of a sweet tooth at all.

3. Apples and nutz
Are pretty much all I have to the list.

Well any fruit really.

And for a larger more filling snack I spread homemade Cashew Butter on Apple slices.

Carrots are alwasy good to when you need something crunchy.
