What's fer Dinner on Sunday?
I roasted a 11.5 pound turkey - nothing fancy, just sage, broth and poultry seasoning with a tadbit of salt. Just clipped some chives to go on baked potatoes and had kidlet shuck the corn. First of the season - I usually put up 5-6 dozen ears in the freezer because my boys are corn fiends but we are definitely out of that stuff. We do get great corn in MN.

Fresh strawberries with icecream if they are still hungry. I buy that awful Redi-Whip. No muss no fuss.

2. roasted pork tenderloin, cous cous with pine nuts, sauteed spinach
I'm about to go outside and pick some rosemary for the pork. I bought about 1/4 cup of pine nuts in bulk today at $19.99 per pound! I wanted another handful for snacking, but not at that price!

4. Morels!
I never have anything worth speaking up about in these threads, but my sister just sent me a precious mess of mushrooms. Hunting has been really bad in the last few years and hardly anyone in my family ends up with any to spare for me, suffering here in FL without any, so this is a BIG deal. Browned up some chicken with julienned sun-dried tomatoes and peppers, tossed the morels in, and then deglazed the pan with a little wine in the end. Served over some simple pasta with dollops of fresh goat cheese on top. OMFG. Why don't I cook more? This was orgasmic.

6. Cornmeal-breaded, deep-fried blue gill filets.
With some mac and cheese and coleslaw.

My fisherman brother kindly supplied me with a package of blue gill (frozen the day it was caught) a couple months ago. They taste like meaty corn chips done this way. Yum. :-)
