Bill is cooking tonight.
Something Chinese.
Homemade egg rolls for sure, dunno about the other dishes.
Yum. :)

1. Thai style turkey burgers
made with ground turkey, thai fish sauce, ginger, soy, garlic, scallions and a pinch of brown sugar, served on a toasted bun topped with sauteed red onions and asian style slaw made from cabbage, carrots, red peppers with a sesame orange dressing. For dessert I'm making bananas foster.

I'm on week two of my 50 bucks a week for groceries for 2 challenge. It's really forcing me to be creative.

2. Sounds delicious!
And sounds like a great challenge project too! :)
I really should do something like that. We shop economically, but I like the idea of challenging myself to do it smarter.

We have two of them and they are pretty well loved here, too. They last longer than you would think since they're only tightly packed cardboard.

Thanx, we think she's pretty precious, too. Her name is Lucy. :hi:

27. Thanx. She is my little doll.
My snuggle baby. She sleeps all cuddled up against my chest at night...me on my right side, her on her left tucked under the flannel sheet. I love her dearly.

She's not having a good day today after her surgery. I gave her a little tiny piece of baby aspirin and she's been napping. I hope she doesn't end up having problems because of the spaying. She's such a tiny thing even though she's probably 7-8 mos. old.

12. OK, for some weird reason I bought tenderized round steak with the intention
of making chicken fried steaks. I just had a hankering for them, but now I am thinking they are more fat than I wanted. But I don't know what else to do with them. I guess if I skip the mashed potatoes and milk gravy I was going to make with them, It might be ok.

I just haven't been physically active enough lately to deserve this.

:freak:

13. Tuna steaks smothered in onions, mashed potatoes and green beans on the side
Hubby was feeling a little jittery & light headed - like he needed dinner fast. He skipped lunch today. So I nuked the tuna steaks first and then into the fry pan with the onions to finish up and get browned a little. It all turned out well and took maybe 15 minutes start to finish. Fast because I also cheated and made boxed mashed Idaho potatoes. Darn but those are so good in a pinch!

I hope your Chinese dinner was great. Homemade egg rolls? Oooh la-la, that's a treat!

18. Sounds delicious. I'm a fan keeping of boxed potato flakes in the pantry.
We get a Kroger generic brand that you cannot tell isn't homemade. They are great for thickening soups too!

Hope your hubby is feeling better. Does he have a blood sugar thing?

23. I used to make
instant mashed potatoes that were incredibly good. Make according to the box instructions and sub sour cream for most or all of the milk. Stir in lots of parm cheese and garlic. Spread in a baking dish, poke holes around the top with the handle end of a wooden spoon, drizzle with melted butter, especially in the holes. Top with more parm and bake til bubbly and slightly browned on top. When I didn't have the time to do that, I would just mix in the sour cream, parm and garlic.

They were labeled PMS Potatoes.

Bill, though usually pretty perfect, isn't a fan of sour cream, especially in potatoes. Which I love. It's one of the flaws I have to work hard to overlook. How can ya NOT like sour cream in potatoes? :D

14. We had Greetaliaexican.
LOL. Take on that Fritalian thingie from a while back. Went to a new restaurant in the area that specializes in sunny-ish cuisines; Greek, Italian and Mexican. Not entirely sold on the concept, and the food was mixed; apps and salads were excellent, entrees need some work. But it was pretty good, all in all, and it was DH's birthday so we tried something new. :-)

Japanese-Chinese, and a Greek-Italian place. It's always interesting.
Sounds like fun! Hope he had a happy birthday!

Where else can I get saganaki and tzatziki with fresh pita for a starter, a beautiful salad with a parmesan vinaigrette and a burrito? :-)
