1. Is there anyway you could block their access?.?.?
My kitchen has a door from the dining room leading into the kitchen. So, I could put up a kiddie gate to keep doggies out, but I don't have that concern anymore and my dog wouldn't steal food ever. She would just watch me cook and drool, hoping I would drop something.

Now I only have kitties. Before Kagome died this past summer she did manage to jump up on the stove while I was making Tuna Fish Salad. It really surprised me that she could jump up that high. Kagome, Inuyasha, and Sango were born feral and I turned them into sweet lovable kitties.

6. They are very cute.
Quite unusual names, what's their origin?

:-)

7. They're Japanese: they were named after an animation series called Inuyasha
Quick summary:

Kagome is a teenage girl living in the modern area Japan. She falls down a well while looking for her cat, and ends up in feudal Japan, being chased by a demon (The demon is after the Sacred Jewel Kagome has in her possession). She discovers Inuyasha sealed to a tree with arrows. Inuyasha is a half demon (part dog-like and human) Kagome eventually unseals Inuyasha, after he promises to help her escape the demon chasing her. The Sacred Jewel gets broken into tiny fragments and the search is on to make the Jewel whole again.
The Sacred Jewel has the power of good or evil. If a demon possesses it (such as Inuyasha, he could become a full fledged demon) they will absorbed the power of the Jewel and hence become more powerful.

Sango is a demon slayer, she is human girl they meet along the way.

Kagome has the ability to travel back and forth through time via the well.

Anyway probably more info than you wanted, but it is a great story of love, companionship, trust, compassion, mystical powers, and very funny with scary episodes mixed in. The cast of characters are some of the funniest I've ever seen.

Cartoon Network airs it in the wee morning hours, but one must catch it from the beginning for it to make any sense, as it is a 7 year series.

2. They sound like they were seagulls in a previous life.
It also sounds like they need to live outdoors until the food is put away.

3. God bless 'em............
At least they're not fussy eaters.

Omnivores make such great pets.

Is there anything they won't eat?

So, how did they get into the cookies?

Next time put the cookies high enough for them not to reach and save them a couple just for being so darn cute (no chocolate chip cookies).

:D

11. Oh, how little you know.

The top one (the Shih-Tzu) yes, is too small... that's why he's just a partner in crime.

The lower one - don't even get me started. You cannot turn your back for 5 seconds.

He's so innocent in that picture, which is why he's still alive. I think dogs (and children) are inversely cute relative to their impishness. And the two of them sleeping, one on top of the other - I'm pretty sure that was planned. Don't ask me how, but I'm sure they got together and planned it.

Thieving bastards.

Gotta love them, though.

12. My cat's a major league thief.
He steals about a half dozen items a week including unopened cans of food. If the can opener disappears then I guess I won't need to feed him anymore.

He has learned to stay off the food counters -- I think.
