Now I remember why I don't eat this very often!
Edited on Thu Jan-01-09 05:36 PM by hippywife
Okay, aside from the fact that it's poor nutrition. LOL

Bar of cream cheese with mild sweet jalapeno jelly all over it...smeared on crackers. I had never heard of this until I moved down here and my MIL made it for a gathering. Really simple and it really looks the part. But, damn! It's totally addicting! :9

1. Or chutney smeared on top of a bar of cream cheese
First time I ever had it was in an office where I worked. When the coworker dumped it all on a plate and spread out the crackers I was like, wha? Until I tried one.

The bad thing is that I have cream cheese and jalapeno jelly in the fridge right now. Good thing is that I just had lunch and am full right now. :D

Happy New Year, hon!

3. The great and vast middle!
Even when I miss the Atlantic Ocean, I still love it here so much.

4. I would, too!
It's a beautiful place and I would never tire of the scenery. I've only gotten to go camping up there once and would love to do it again if we had the time and finances to do so.

Take in all the beauty for me, too, would you. LOL

5. Our friends around the corner make that
They have a neighborhood get together every christmas season. They're retired teachers. She is local to this area, but the other she is from way down southern Virginia. This, apparently, is something she had as a kid. Cream cheese and onion jelly and cream cheese and hot pepper jelly. Last year she had some garlic jelly! It was amazing.

6. Wow! I've never had a garlic jelly.
I'll have to look into that since we have lots of it sprouting in the garden as we speak. Thanx for that idea. :9 (Like I needed one more! LOL )

15. I'm not sure, but it tasted like it started with roasted garlic, not raw.

20. With Triscuits
I'm not a fan of these crackers, but when paired with cream cheese and either the hot pepper jelly or garlic jelly or (my favorite) onion and garlic relish, they are sublime.

I'm hungry.

(I just found the most disturbing thing while looking for a Triscuits/cream cheese/jelly photo - Triscuit sliders?)

8. I always forget about buying jalapeno jelly
That's a great combo! Thanks for the reminder. Perfect for one person or for a party.

I sometimes serve cream cheese with mango chutney and naan from Trader Joe's. They have a curry flavored naan that is really good.

9. my mother had a recipe for fir tip jelly
...made from the little tender new tips on fir tree branches. I've never made it, but it also would be really good on cream cheese.

Could you get the taste of planked salmon with the jelly instead of cooking on a plank?
