Stainless Measuring Spoons
Sorry for the fuzzy pic this morning, but I got these spoons at work. They are from the estate of an elderly resident. I love them and want more of them but haven't seen them anywhere. There are no markings on them aside from the word "stainless" and the measurement etched in the bowl of each one. Anyone have any idea who makes/made them?

1. I have that set
It's on a simple wire ring.

I bought it in a Boston supermarket in the cooking junk aisle, right off the rack. All it had as an identification was a sticky price tag I had one hell of a time removing.

I like it more than other sets because of the long handles, great for dipping into deep jars of sugar and other items.

Somebody probably still makes it. Just set your sights low and look for them in supermarkets and junk shops.

2. See, now...
I was really banking on your being the one able to tell me who made them. LOL Yeah, I kind of figured I was going to be rummaging around to find more of them. I only have the two, the 1 T and 1 t.

I like to keep multiple sets of measuring cups and spoons so I'll probably will be looking around for them to replace the plastic ones I'm getting rid of. I've replaced one set with stainless and want to find another nice vintage set.

Thanx! And a very good morning to you.

3. I have the same set from Foley.
In addition to being good spoons, I find the handle edges good for prying things open in the kitchen (the McCann's oatmeal tins, for one thing).

4. I do have some Foley
measuring cups that I picked up the same way I did the spoons. I was wondering if they could be the same manufacturer. Thanx, Cassandra. Much appreciated. :hi:

5. These aren't exactly what you're looking for
but I recently bought these - they're similar but heavier and not old. My mom had a set like the ones you are looking for years and years ago, but they've disappeared over the years. I always like them, and even recently have preferred a set of plastic ones that are rectangular in shape rather than the traditional rounds ones. I love the new set - 7 sizes instead of the traditional 4.

6. I have this set, and like you stated 7 sizes instead of 4
I :loveya: my set. I can't remember where I bought them but they are the best teaspoons I've ever owned.

Hippywife: I looked for the paperwork of who mine are made by but I haven't found it yet. If I find it I'll post here.

17. I have the old Foley ones (got them with Betty Crocker coupons, along with
matching measuring cups)

I have Tupperware ones too, with odd sizes
and those same stainless ones with different odd sizes.

no such thing as too many sets of measuring implements.

7. Those really are nice
especially for the reason they note: getting into narrow spice jars. Have you seen the ones that are for measuring a pinch, a dash, and a smidgen? LOL

My goal is to eliminate as much plastic as possible, and I love old things. They just seem to have something in the style that can be lacking in design these days. Altho I do like the cut of the ones you posted, too.

9. I have two sets of those.
One set was my grandmothers and they sit in a little rack inside a cupboard door. I bought another set fairly recently (in the last 20 years LOL)

I think they were just Cooks brand cheapos.

Had to go look. The newer ones have metric and english and they have holes in the ends so that they can hang on the rack that came with them (bowls down). It is a flat piece of metal with 4 little hooks cut out and bent from the metal. The older ones only have english (rather faded!) and no holes - their rack is a strip with little bars cut and pulled out so they slide down into place with the bowls at the top.

11. I generally hate it when someone says "Google is your friend"
Usually they're just being a lazy smart ass and putting as much effort into insulting you as it would take to answer the question.

However, in this case, Google really is your friend. The shopping link from Google finds a whole bunch of things for "stainless measuring spoons." I didn't see any exactly like those but there are pages and pages of hits, many with the long handles that people are saying they like. They're probably all more expensive than if you find them in the ordinary places that other people suggested looking.

12. I did a pretty exhaustive search on Google
before I posted the question. But thanx anyway.

13. Don't know, but I've had a set of similar ones too

I think they were a store staple at one time. Functional, yet cheap. I know I used to have a set.

I suspect yours have no intrinsic resale value. I also suspect most on this list have either had them or currently has them.

Sorry to disappoint. That said, check 'em out, as you never know. Maybe yours are different in some way.

14. I'm sure they're not.
They probably are as you say, store staple, et al.

I just really like them better than any I've seen. Probably because they are old.

15. You guys aren't going to believe this but...
I now have a 1/2 t. spoon just like these. The other half brought it home from work yesterday and I just found it in the sink this morning while doing dishes. He found it on his tech bench and thought he'd accidentally taken it to work with him. I had previously only had the two.

Of course I ALSO have this set, but never have particularly valued them until just now.
So thanks...from this day forward no others will 'measure up'.

Come to think of it, I believe I've got some very thin gauge stainless measuring Cups in that
same vintage and make.

I'll bet no one has these...a dash, a pinch and a smidgen.
