1. That is spectacular.
I do not think I would have the guts to do that. I would massacre the pear and it would go everywhere.

3. nope a cordless and he went real slow from the bottom about
half way up. he made sure the drill was stationary sitting on the table and he held the pear in a towel at a 90 degree angle.

it looked easy, even I could do it!

6. He's given me so much courage to futz around...
I now use a butterfly net instead of cheese cloth, I often use utility knives for fine work; and I have been known to use my dremel on some things that were stubborn, like coconuts.

9. Last time I bought a whole coconut
dropping it out the window of my fourth floor walkup did the trick.

It cracked the concrete, though.

Eek. Cracked concrete not so lovely.

I think I'll stick to power tools... not having a fourth floor to throw anything from (though believe me, I've wished for one occasionally...)
