got a Foley Food Mill at the thrift store today and an "Eggstractor"
knowing how we love our gadgets, I wanted to try the Eggstractor but wasn't willing to pay the "As Seen On TV" prices, but was happy to give them a buck for it hehe The best thing about it? They actually WORK!

I also picked up a Foley Food Mill, guess it will make applesauce and such, any suggestions?

3. I have had a big Foley for years, and use it not only for applesauce,
but for my bumper crop of tomatoes in the summer. It makes a puree (seeds and skins removed) that I can can as sauce, or use in making ketchup, or condensed tomato soup, which I can up. I think I used it for my pumpkin butter? Or maybe I put that in the Cuisinart......

9. I've used it when making grape jam and preserves
It separates the seeds and skins really well.

6. Let me know if you see any Flowbees,
you know, the gadget that you attach to your vacuum cleaner that cuts hair, in your thrift shop expeditions. I would dearly love to try one, but I am not prepared to pay $50 for the experiment.

8. Is there some secret culinary use for a Flowbee?
Since my head is shaved, I'd have no other interest in one.

13. If you figure one out, let us know.
I dunno, maybe could be used for presentation purposes. I once had a friend who used his acetylene torch for creme brulee and for waxing his skis.......

11. we only tried on one, but it worked as advertised. Hubby did the
"big push" so technically I haven't tried it yet. It may become one of his kitchen jobs in addition to "squeezing the water out of the tuna" and "reach that high shelf" and "could you open this?" and drying the pots

but on first test it did great!
