I just finished migrating from my 2008 MacBook (Pro) to my new MacBook Pro
I used the Migration Assistant. It took about four hours over our wireless network. It essentially cloned the old computer to this new one. Everything is where it was, right down to browser bookmarks and all my settings in Word and Excel. I had to put in the M$ key to reactivate, but after that all was well. It looks exactly like my old computer.
