1. Did you set up a LAN?
Your laptop does not necessarily join the network.

Either set up the 'puter to join automatically via the Network Pane in System Preferences

-OR-

from the Airport drop-down in the menu bar, select the network you want to hook up with.

3. Did you try resetting it?

I have not looked at the older "spaceship" versions of the airport extreme base station in a while, but I am sure it has a reset button somewhere.

After pressing it, you will need to re-enter airport utility and reset it to the way you like it, passwords, etc...

4. i did, i've tried it all. Anyhow i ichatted my husband and asked him to bring us home
a new one. this pod thing is kind of odd shaped for the desk anyhow but it's worked just fine for almost 4 years. Rip in little airport pod, gonna put you right next to the old school hair dryer shaped imac in the closet of dead technology.

5. LOL
good, the new ones are mega awesome, especially if all of your macs and wireless devices are 802.11N capable.
