Well I have to say this... over the last week or so

I have been using my MAC at home, running Open Office 3.0 with the writers extensions... as well as a couple others

I have also installed OOo3 on my little baby lappie... and again done the extensions.

I am ALMOST Windows free... that is ALMOST, since we do have a windows machine that also runs Office 7.0

Funny, these days the only thing I used that one for is printing and layout.

And it is somewhat liberating.

Now every time I have to do IT on that one there goes the afternoon... the other two... the mac and the linux... no problem

Now here is one tool I'd love to see on the mac TUXcards... it was designed for Linux... and if I find a tool like that which works on both machines will let you know.

1. Did Treepad... though I had to install WINE on the LINUX

machine

My copy of keynote refuses to run as it used to run on the Mac under cross over... so JPAD works the same way, and they both run on both machines. This is a nice way to taken notes while writing and have a second application open that allows for a tree like notebook.

Now keynote runs well under WINE, so if I can manage to get it to run under crossover... will use that one... mostly familiarity
