The ONLY time Safari crashes on me is on DU ---
Isn't DU "Mac Friendly"?

I don't want to go to Firefox because I am so used to Safari and until very recently, it has had NO problems whle I am on DU. Now it crashes every 5 minutes or so. But NEVER on other sites.

Any explanations for this puzzle??

3. Something on DU has changed in the last two weeks to crash Mac browsers.

I have changed nothing on my PowerBook G4, but I keep getting unexpected quits while surfing DU in Safari and Firefox.

This is also happening on my brand new Intel machine at work. It seems to happen when I click to open a thread's link. It may be a component of the DU structure or something to do with ads coming in.

4. Happens to Me Too
DU is the only sight I crash on.

Let's hope it's just a software problem and not big brother.

7. My problems on DU came with YouTube videos
Once they went up on the front page. Before that DU was one of the few sites I never had trouble viewing. What happens to me is I start hearing a whine and the browser (not just Safari - every one of them) seems to start sucking RAM (1.5 g) until the CPU is gripped and the browser crashes I have to shut down and restart. It's happened hundreds of times on my iMac G5. I had the machine out to Apple for repair, asked numerous times in forums, read everything I can find, and no hope so far. If I click on a site that has one of those YouTube graphic links I can hear the issue start up. If I click off fast enough I can stave off the browser crashing. But I think it's also some ads trigger it, while somehow others don't, so I don't know. But Safari, Camino, Firefox, and so forth, it doesn't matter - they all do it. I just keep switching and using a different one until that one crashes. After a rest, they seem to recover for a while.

8. Yeah, it was happening to me a lot too
So I switched to Firefox, and so far not a single crash. I like Safari but it may be wise to have Firefox on hand for when stuff like this happens. It really is a great web browser, but it doesn't look as cool as Safari does.

9. Skinner was asking for examples of this
earlier this week. PM him and let him know the circumstances. I have a PC yet and it has been crashing as well. No surprise there.

10. Safari never crashes on me.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I always have the pop-up blocker on.
