Good vegetarian eats in Washington DC?
I went to several websites and have lists of vegetarian restaurants and offerings in DC. I am looking for some firsthand recommendations. What can't I miss in DC. My whole family (me, wife, 14 year old daughter, and 11 year old son) are going next weekend for 5 days. I will be busy a lot; they will be free to roam. Any local haunts they might miss would be appreciated (they love going to restaurants will good vegetarian options since those are a tad limited in our part of Wisconsin).

1. I was in DC in 1990
for the March for the Animals, and I don't remember anything specific, but it wasn't hard to eat there at all. There is a restaurant district, Adams Morgan, where I remember going to an Ethiopian place. I found a couple of sites that might be more helpful to you than my fading memory:

3. Honestly
we didn't get a lot of time to find cool places given how hectic our schedule was. I thought DC was pretty veg friendly, though, since most restaurants had some good options (and not just grilled cheese, etc). I got to have the spinach burrito at Burrito Brothers which was GREAT. I really liked the Indian place in the Postal Pavillion. We took our group of high school students to Ebbet's Grill which was a great experience for them but not a lot of veg options (though their cheese plate kicked ass--very good blue cheese).

5. When I travel I usually check out chowhound.com and search for vegetarian
I've found some good spots that way. Just in case this is helpful to you next time.

Thanks for the info.
