1. The "swiftboating" of PETA and Ingrid...lol
The pet industry is relentless to protect their profits, so what we're seeing is a 25 year old quote that's missing the rest of the statement relating to " companion animal abusing humans".....and yes, it's true in some states, people who abuse their pets, shouldn't have pets! It's even a felony now, and they go to jail!!!

It always saddens me to see DUers drink the anti-AR kool aid....even people in rescue! And a veterinarian too, for heaven's sake!

What a lot of DUers don't understand, PETA, HSUS and ASPCA are national lobbyists for the animals, that's what I support !

2. "Swiftboating" is the perfect description.

When asked to back up their claims with facts, all they can say is "I read somewhere..." or post links to corporate backed sites.

EDIT: From the posted pages I would think it would be obvious that PETA is very supportive of companion animals and their protection and good care.

3. That's why I ask for a source.....
usually it's an anti site. You'd think DUers would be on to RW spin by now

I try and post so that lurkers will become informed, not those with an anti-"peta" agenda. It's hard not to lose my cool on those posts :silly:

Did you see where I posted PETA's report to Congress? I think that helped seal the legislation that will require pets' inclusion in evacuation plans! We're very lucky to have them headquartered here in Norfolk, there's always been a pet plan when evacuations from the (VA-NC) beaches are mandatory. This means all hotels within a 500 mile radius drops their "no pets" rules!

Hopefully it brought it to the top again so more people saw it.
I am surprised at some of the people who were so anti-PETA.
How can one be an animal lover and be against PETA?

If you noticed, I asked for a link for that statement that the pres of PETA is "ON RECORD" as being against pet ownership. No response yet.

EDIT: I have a friend who lives in Va Bch..on 64th St off Atlantic Ave..one block from the beach, near the entrance to First Landing State Park.
