John Edwards' New Job: Fighting Poverty - articulating a coherent thesis
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 01:18 AM by AmericanDream
John Edwards was on NPR's "Talk of the Nation" and gave a very coherent and substantive talk/interview about poverty and other economic issues. Anyone interested about the growing economic stratification of America should give it a listen.

Also, in Sep. 2005, Edwards was on NPR to talk about "Class and Katrina" and once again very effectively articulated some positions that, in my opinion, portray the truth about the American society.

You can listen to that audio here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4928873

I think that all candidates, be it for '06 and '08, would benefit from listening to Edwards about the economic issues of our day because he knows what he is talking about on that... I would like the Democratic party to integrate some of his vision and observations in the '06 campaign. The Two Americas speech wasn't just a campaign speech - I think it presented a thoughtful thesis on America's social and economic condition and since the election, Edwards has been articulating an even more pronounced take on this issue, incorporating every facet of our societal structure (tax reform, education, healthcare, housing, etc.) - once again, I would like to see more dems to speak up on this the way he does!
