3. Oh to have a dollar for every male, and some females, who want to 'explain' things
as opposed to take responsibility, make decisions based on factual information, discuss rather than dictate....

Very good article.

4. Nail on the head!
thanks for posting this.

I'm thinking that the tactic this article uses, would be a good way to explain to younger women who think feminist is a dirty word, all the while expecting to go to college andhave a career, why they won't get as far as they think.

6. I should explain that Tom Dispatch has an interesting column on this very subject
and it really makes pretty much the same points

Since guys may not want to click the link in the OP to read that feminist rant, I'm going to go out on a limb here and offer this alternative click: Tom Dispatch

Women who think male chauvinism is past either have been sheltered or are deluded.

Boy, does that ring familiar! The Men Who Explain Things. So tedious.

Rebecca Solnit. I'll have to look into more of her writings, and books.

Thanks for the link.

if i had a dollar for every time i've witnessed a man silenced a woman in this way, i'd never have to work again.

And bloody hell, I just did it this afternoon. I took the submissive, wimp-ass roll and apologized to a "cock privilege" person. I hate myself.

20. taken to the extreme
I just came across this....(from 'WTF is it now?') ...

"McCain opposes equal pay bill, votes fer wimmin, kids on his lawn

Maverick Sen. John McClone, campaigning through poverty-stricken cities and towns, said Wednesday he opposes a Senate Democratic bill that seeks equal pay for women because it would lead to more lawsuits, wimminfolk getting uppity ideas..."

23. Very true
And in my experience many women will stand at the front lines to shut other women up and make them feel like they should take the back seat. I used to think women's rights was on a roll, just getting better. But now I think there is something big, and invisible really threatened by woman power. And since many women are not even willing to stand up for their own gender, eek gads, we have a lot farther to go.
