Anyone have a fibroid procedure recently?
My doctor is pushing myomectomy (because it's what she does), my one friend had a successful uterine abalation, and another insists that uterine artery embolization is the best and only way to go. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't want a hysterectomy.

I've done some superficial internet research, but any suggestions or directions to good information sources would be appreciated.

1. www.hystersisters.com
even tho' you don't want a hysterectomy, check out these two resources:

www.hystersisters.com -- it's a wonderful support group for women who are either going through hysterectomies or other related procedures. Lots of knowledgeable people there too.

Another source is the Yahoo group Survivor's Guide to Surgical Menopause -- another knowledgeable group who can give you tons of advice.

Good luck!

3. I had a myomectomy 3 years ago ...
and am looking at having to do something again. What proceedure would work best for you depends upon the location and size of the fibroids, as well your history, your age, if you've had children or not or if you want them.

If your doctor is only pushing one option, you might want to get a second opinion. Or at least talk to her and see if you can get her to discuss the other options and why she thinks a myomectomy is the best choice. I know that's all easier said than done!
