Egyptian pyramids found by infra-red satellite images (BBC)
By Frances Cronin
BBC News

Seventeen lost pyramids are among the buildings identified in a new satellite survey of Egypt.

More than 1,000 tombs and 3,000 ancient settlements were also revealed by looking at infra-red images which show up underground buildings.

Initial excavations have already confirmed some of the findings, including two suspected pyramids.

The work has been pioneered at the University of Alabama in Birmingham by US Egyptologist Dr Sarah Parcak.

She says she was amazed at how much she and her team has found.

5. Jedefre's pyramid was lost due to people pulling it apart for buildings elsewhere
At least that is what was in the documentary we watched.

Dr. Hawass is probably loving this report. It's definitely going to give him job security.

7. Kinda strange how the aliens first taught step-pyramids and smaller pyramids

If the intelligent space aliens were all that hot, why did they start small?
