Hey science groupies! If you're looking for something to listen to that won't rot your brain, then don't miss rockstar astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson on this week's Point of Inquiry podcast from the Center For Inquiry. And while he doesn't cover quite everything he certainly gets a representative sampling of great topics into the conversation as he discusses the the origins of the solar system, the recent IAU debate on planets, the possibility of extra-terrestrial life and more with CFI's DJ Grothe.

And if you think any of these topics are boring then you've never listened to Neil deGrasse Tyson before who is perhaps one of the most entertaining and literate scientist since Carl Sagan. As well as being the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, Dr. Tyson is the author of The Sky is Not the Limit: Adventures of an Urban Astrophysicist; and also Origins: Fourteen Billion Years of Cosmic Evolution, co-written with Donald Goldsmith.

1. I loved him on Colbert.

He was relaxed, down to earth, and engaging... a wonderful successor to Sagan's charismatic leadership in bringing science to the people.

2. Oh, I agree

I haven't seen him on Colbert but I've listened to him a couple of times in the past. Definitely a successor to Asimov, Feynman and Sagan.

Thanks for the tip on Tyson's appearance on Colbert. I don't normally watch the show (not because it's not funny, just not enough time in a day). For whatever reason, Comedy Central's video player doesn't play well with my system so I'll check out Throw Away Your TV (http://throwawayyourtv.com) later.

BTW, the Foundation Trilogy is one of my favorite book sets of all time, so I smile whenever I see your nickname. Also, NeuralGourmet looks intriguing, so I've bookmarked it to check out when time permits.
