Alaska's Rat Islands have had 127 earthquakes in the past week

There have been an amazing 127 earthquakes in the past week in the Rat Islands of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. The depths have ranged from 1km to more than 35km. The largest was magnitude 6.4 on June 14th.

This location is an underthrust fault and there is also a volcano there - the Kiska volcano. This was the location of the famous magnitude 8.7 Alaskan earthquake of February 4, 1965. The last eruption of the Kiska volcano was on March 18, 1964.

2. There are always so many earthquakes, volcanos

etc. up here that no one even bothers to mention it. Has there been any report Outside about the 56,000+ acre wildfire that has been raging southwest of Fairbanks for over a week now threatening the entire towns of Nenana and Anderson?

......the people of Alaska know better than to depend on FEMA for anything as long as Idiot Boy is running the whole show. Oh wait, do they have a republican Governor?

5. There aren't many people way out there

so probably not too much danger from all this rocking and rolling. Yes, we have a Republican governor, but nobody in their right mind in this state would rely on FEMA for anything. Our own emergency management people (and we ourselves) will take care of us if anything bad happens here.
