Skull of saber-toothed cat found in North Dakota

DICKINSON, N.D. — A complete skull of a saber-toothed cat found in southwestern North Dakota over the summer is being prepared for public display next year.

"Finding a complete skull is rare and very important," said John Hoganson, paleontologist for the North Dakota Geological Survey. "We knew that these cats existed here and found fossils previously, but this is an absolutely perfect skull with lower jaw."

The big cats lived in North Dakota 30 million years ago, Hoganson said. The animal looked much like a modern-day mountain lion.

"One of the big differences is they had canine teeth — really long and that hang out of their mouth," he said.

and she honestly believed dinosaur bones were planted by satan to drive people toward evolution and away from creationsim, and therefore away from god.

you can't make stuff up this bizarre.

this was a college educated woman in the software development industry. one of her common sayings was "it's a sinful world".

she aslo said clinton was the worst president ever because of his affair with monica. she actually said that the worst thing a person can do is have an extra-marital affair. i asked her if it was worse than murder and she said yes.

she also told me that her two greatest heroes were ronald reagan and george hw bush. i asked her about reagan's extramarital affair with nancy but she made a funny face and acted like she didn't know what i was talking about.

it's very difficult to work with people that are not sane.

5. 12 years ago we found the remains of a Mammoth.

My wife an i were hunting arrowheads around an old salt lake. I noticed a white flaky like powder on the side of the hill, after a little digging we found one of the leg bones. We stopped there and contacted A&M and Texas Tech to see if they were interested, neither were interested. I got a couple of friends and we dug up what we could. We ended up with 2 fragmented tusks, some large leg bones, one 4 inch flint bi-face,and several large pieces of flint that had knapped cutting edges.
