Another question about Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
Just read today that McCain wants to push legislation through that would delay the RX drug plans for 2 years. Has anyone else read or heard this? I can't imagine the drug companies and insurance companies will put up with this kind of thing after investing so heavily to get people signed up by Nov. 15 of this year through May 15 next year. I've had a representative come talk with me. She had tons of booklets with formularies and other info pertaining to this coverage. Another company that I deal with hasn't even gotten complete information about their plans yet. AARP seems to have some info. Can you imagine what kind of confusion this will cause if this is changed?
Talk about another strike against *! Add this to all of his other woes and his approval rating should be below zero!
1. Delaying for 2 years gives time to fix this seriously flawed program.
As a lawyer trained and experienced in insurance law and contracts I find this program has been confusing to many lawyers and others who have graduate level training (MBAs, PhDs, etc.) and relevant work experience in interpreting and implementing contracts of insurance. The one thing we all agree on is that it was drafted to benefit the drug and insurance industries. The most offensive part of it is that if you don't sign up by the initial deadline, it will cost you more for every month you delay. That angle is really designed to stampede people into signing up even though they don't understand what they are signing.
