Any of you seniors like me from Massachusetts? I have just

been laid off and will lose the Medicare supplement my employer was paying in lieu of regular BC-BS. I will now need to buy a supplement to Medicare. I do not mean the Drug coverage, I have to go without that. Some companies, I understand, offer good policies and others are awful or will not write in MA. Any of you using a particular policy that you are pleased with? I have to start looking around.

1. Get one that has an agent where you live,

and doesn't have "out of area" clauses but covers all. That's what we did.

2. I'm not on Medicareyet but lots of people I know who are

on it, like the AARP Medigap plan

5. Find a local agent who is licensed with all the co's that offer

Medicare supplementals. I found one here in Ga. and he was a BIG HELP! An agent like that knows the differences between all the different policies and will find out your needs and explain your options.

I don't know anything about Ma. and since things are different even beween counties here in Ga. I wouldn't want to suggest anything to you.
