Three more ticketed for feeding homeless in Las Vegas park
LAS VEGAS Three more activists have been issued summonses under a new law making it illegal to feed the homeless in Las Vegas city parks ...

The ordinance was passed July 19th. It carries a fine of up to one thousand dollars and six months in jail.

Officials say they don't want homeless people getting handouts ...

Last month, a radio station traffic reporter got the first ticket for handing out doughnuts in a city park.

2. I wonder how many years you burn in hell for feeding doughnuts to
homeless people.

If Jerry Falwell had any balls, he'd fly into Las Vegas and demand the city overturn its don't-feed-the-homeless ban.

I'm no minister, but didn't What's-His-Name mention something about clothing the naked and feeding the hungry?

4. I'm torn on laws like this.
It seems bad to prevent people from helping others, but these ordinances were designed to prevent things like panhandling (which is something I support).

6. Ah, yes, whatsoever you do to the least of My brothers!!!
Way ta play it, Vegas!!

I swear, the smart way to play this would be to invoke the 'that you do unto ME' JESUS card. It's about the only thing that gets through to them...or makes them feel a shred of guilt/fear.

8. Maybe when we have real programs to take care of the homeless
They talk like there are plenty of resources and private citizens helping is unnescessary. More Orwellian drivel by those who really just don't care about others. Hard hearts

9. This is one of the most outrageous situations I've read about
concerning the homeless in a long time.

I hope the courts rule this unconstitutional.

The city bastards should be forced to use the fine money to pay for more homeless services, so there's not such a need to feed people in Vegas parks!

10. Northing is free in Vegas... or is it?
So the officials in Vegas would rather lock you up and feed you for six months using the tax-payers dollar than have you make a donation to the homeless? Wow, great system.
