5. If the internets are outlawed, does that mean that only outlaws can
have the internets??

These people are absolutely fucking crazy!

Free Speech? We can't let these people have free speech...they might learn something...and then tell each other!!

Shit, 'Murka can't have people speakin' out about whatever they want, whenever they want. What kind of 'Murka would that be?

7. figuring it out
While they're clueless about using the internet itself for the most part, they've figured out that it's how foreign news is getting in to debunk their propaganda and how evidence against them is disseminated.

10. Blogs are free speech
They obviously don’t want internet sites countering the pure crap they say. I have plenty to say on a blog called: http://ottoswarroom.blogspot.com/
I know they don’t like it.

12. attack of internet freedom of speech
This is a very disturbing trend. It is not just happening in China. There seems to be a steady erosion of freedom on the internet. Web admins being forced to hand over IP addresses. IP address searching and logging etc. This article sites many of the disturbing trends of erosions of freedom on the internet

14. Is everyone reading the correct links?
H.R. 2726 would prohibit the government from starting new broadband services that compete with already existing commercial providers while allowing the government to start new services where no commercial broadband providers exist.

Why is this a bad thing?

15. This is an awful bill
And it was bought and paid for by the big telephone companies like Verizon and SBC.

The bill is meant to maintain the current duopoloy that cable and telcos enjoy in the broadband market. It essentially gives these corporate behemoths "right of first refusal" for municipalities to offer their communities cheap and ubiquitous broadband, such as they're doing in Philadelphia. For rural areas, this means that they have to wait until big cable and telcos officially say they have no intention to bring broadband services to that area. Given that common carriage laws and universal service provisions are being done away with or at least weakened, this "redlinig" effect will no doubt increase.

In other words, this is just another way for media monopolies to maintain power and prevent competition.

This bill is absurd and unAmerican.
