1. I live a couple of miles from Patriot Pastor Rod Parsley's joint.
A splendid church, that ties up traffic in my neighborhood every Sunday. You have no idea just how scary it is to see these guys in action. They all view themselves, and are viewed by their "flocks" as being much bigger than the words they preach. I actually saw Parsley say that you can pray for what you want in life...a car...a house...you get the idea.
The one thing I have not heard these false prophets talk about is love. Love. The core aspect of all the major, and most lesser practiced religions of humankind.
These people have left the teachings of their "religion" behind, and the real danger lies in the fact that people are listening to them.
What would Jesus do? Nuke 'em till they glow is a likely response from these evil zealots!!! But mark this date, because I honestly believe that the tide is turning.

3. I think the ones that actually read their Bibles will see through it!
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me" Matthew 19:21.

2. That's My Understanding
The Interfaith Alliance is a good example of how to handle this issue correctly and we may need to bolster them so that they can inform clergy that voting guides in the pews are illegal if they wish to remain a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

4. You betcha!
I am not sure how one would go about enforcing the laws. Can a citizen complaint to the IRS intiative an inquiry? I don't know. But this is clearly illegal and puts their tax exempt status into jeopardy. I have a very politically aware church and we would never dream of putting voting guides in the sanctuary. It's exploiting ignorance.

5. The easiest thing to do, in my humble opinion, is to notify...
Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

Look under 'contact us.'

They will take a look at the situation and see whether or not it merits further investigation. They ultimately decide whether or not there is a basis for an IRS complaint, and THEY make it. And they know the related law inside and out.
