I posted this as a related link under a different thread, but I think the event stands on it's own.

This follows a series of stories about a woman who was denied permission to say a prayer at a county board of supervisors meeting. From what I understand, the board has a different person say a prayer before each meeting so that they are not representing one religion over another. I think all prayers have been from christian, probably protestant religions. The woman is a Wiccan.

1. fyi
until the 1970s, Native Americans were not allowed to practice their relgions openly. All faiths have not been given equal treatments and rights in this nation.

2. If she had said "ALLAH AKBAR"
And had Hallah lamb in her refrigerator - she would have been arrested for suspected violation of the Patriot Act in BushCo's America.

In Pennsylvania - back when the State Legislature mandated reading ten verses from the King James Version of Scripture as part of the mandated "Opening Exercises", (typically read aloud by a student) - it was a trip to the Principal's office if you read from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Jewish translation.

3. Sorry, Only Christians and Jews may pray
You will have to convert to what he believes before you will be allowed.

Next time it will be only Christians and the time after that, only fundamentalist Christians.

Once that is established, only Baptists will be allowed to pray.

When he finally has it his way, only members of his church will be allowe -- no -- everyone will be required to pray exactly as he says to pray and to the version of God he dictates.

Oh, heck, just pray to him, he thinks he's God.
