I find relief from lifelong sinus pain/congestion with OTC Mucinex.
I was prescribed Mucinex by my family MD a few months ago when I had a sinus/UR infection. It helped immediately - I felt less pain, infection cleared up faster and I was able to sleep better without waking up unable to breathe through my nose. I take 1 every 12 hours, have had no side effects, and still sleep longer and deeper, breathe easier.
Not selling, just my experience with it.

1. I love the Mucinex
sure has made a difference in my life. My voice sounds smoother and more pleasing too:) Glad you were able to find relief.

Also have found that I have had a lot less sinus issues since I cut out milk products (except butter). Plus haven't had a single cold since I went essentially dairy-free 6 years ago (and can't attribute it to any new supplements or change in habits around that time either). Not pushing veganism (and am not even vegan, just last night had some rockin' pollo and carnitas tacos, mmm) just sharing what has worked for me and others.

2. I understand a lot of singers use it...I have to have my ice cream
on occasion, and some cheese, too - but I am really aware of the dairy product problem...

Thanks.

4. I hear ya, I literally dream about ice cream
but can't handle the price I pay for the indulgence so just make do with some Rice Dream, which is pretty darn tasty and creamy, though not nearly as rich as my beloved Haagen-Daz.

Cheese I have resigned myself to never tasting again:( sucks but otherwise I am congested and headachy for days...but didn't used to be so maybe it will change someday, I hope. Glad you are able to tolerate it enough, lucky duck!:)

5. Sorry, but Haagen-Daz is gone - no longer made. I get that sinus and headache on about 1/4
glass of beer...have not had a drink of alcohol in over 22 years.

But at least I have cheese...

I was going to have surgery to clear my sinus problem, but mucinex made that unnecessary.

6. wow, Haagen-Daz gone, zoiks!
guess I really never will enjoy that delight again!

Haven't drank alcohol in 15 years myself, since I was 23, and swear I was allergic. or maybe just allergic to embarrassing myself, thank goodness you-tube wasn't around then!

3. Im subject to bronchitis and pneumonia
I start taking it as soon as I start to feel that tightness in chest.
Since Mucinex has been otc I can attribute that it has helped me avoid expensive and lengthy hospital stays. I can clear my lungs before the infection can really get a hold.

8. Hasn't it always been OTC in lower doses?
However, it wasn't called Mucinex then but Guaifenisin, and wasn't quite as strong. It's really good for thinning mucous.
