Rethink for calorie eating levels
Apparently most diets are too excessive in their caloric restriction.

The calorie counts used as the foundation for diet plans and healthy-eating guidance for the past 18 years may be wrong, a report suggests.

The recommended daily intake of calories could be increased by up to 16%, a draft report by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition said.

Intake levels are currently 2,000 calories for women and 2,500 for men.

But the panel stresses that people should only eat more if they exercise more, given rising levels of obesity.

2. I no longer count calories. I have found that, as long as I get my
45 minutes a day of brisk walking, I can basically eat any damned thing I want, within reason. I had a small Fatburger and fat fries for dinner last night, but today it's fresh fruits and veggies, including a baked sweet potato. My wants do appear to have changed somewhat over the years, and my local eating plan, where I buy produce at the farmer's market, is a big help.

3. For my metabolism, it's 1638 max... now if I got a human to boink with, I could get it back to 2000.

5. It's pretty simple
If calories taken in - calories expended is negative you will lose weight, positive you will gain weight.

Their are plenty of variables; lean muscle percentage, metabolism, gender, age, resting calorie requirements, and so on. But that's pretty much it and it holds true for everyone.
