Poll: 74% of Americans Oppose Cuts to Medicaid

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation released a poll on June 29, which finds very strong opposition to cuts to Medicaid, such as those in progress here in Tennessee. The "Democratic" Governor of Tennessee is in the process of cutting roughly 300,000 from the state's expanded Medicaid program, TennCare. The Governor's health care policy includes severely limiting the benefits of hundreds of thousands more.

According to the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation:

Fully 74% of Americans oppose state Medicaid Cuts.

Fully 65% oppose limits to prescription drugs under Medicaid.

The public is also strongly opposed to cuts at the federal level.

"About 80 percent of respondents supported increasing or maintaining the current level of federal Medicaid funding, while . .

1. Recommended for greatest.
Yes. This is awesome news. This is how Democrats will take back governorships in states that now have Repub govs.

In Mississippi, polls are showing that Haley Barbour is EXTREMELY unpopular. Why? Because he started screwing with Medicaid and Medicare, cutting over 50,000 people off.

He won't get a second term, and Medicaid will be his folly. Look for Governor John Grisham in 2007. (Grisham has hinted at an interest in running as a Dem candidate in 2007).

Thanks for this great news, Egalia. Let's get rid of these Republican governors and put Democrats in office who can straighten out the mess that Republicans have made of Medicaid and Medicare.

2. What are Wal-Mart employees going to do now?
They can't afford the expensive health insurance offered by Wal-Mart and now there Tenn-Care is being reduced. Most of the Nation is against reducing medical benefits and yet they are still doing it. Figures, elected officials don't care about their constituents anymore. They are more concerned about their next political move and who they can get to donate to their campaigns.

Just like brush and his campaign against legal abortions. Most of the country doesn't want to make abortions illegal again, but is that stopping them? No.
