Anyone ever used "Charlie's Soap"?

I am searching for a soap with no additives, perfumes, brighteners, enzymes etc to help cope with newly diagnosed allergies. I have read the specs for lots of products on the market and would like some real-life feedback. Will call this company today to hear what they have to say about their powdered product. Use it? Please let me know what works for you. All the grocery stores around here sell the regular stuff except Trader Joe's. I tried TJ'S powder but I don't care for it. This soap (Charlie's) is relatively expensive and I will have to pay for shipping so I don't want to buy it just to "try", I'd rather hear from someone who has used the product. Thanks in advance for your advice, you always come thru!

the writing on the package is amusingly strange, though it seems kindly meant. It has perfumes in a naturals-only sense and the liquid Castile in peppermint is my favorite soap for my dreadlocks ever. I only wish I could find it in a store, I used to work in a health-food-and company warehouse and we got mad discounts on dinged-in stuff. I kept hoping somebody'd drop a box of the Tea Tree Oil variety.

10. Another vote for Dr. Bronner's

It's what I use when I get contact dermatitis from commercial products. I use it for everything, too: dishwashing, laundry, bath soap.

Besides, the labels are funnier than "Jokes for the John."

We use it all the time. But I must admit I know Charlie personally. I would suggest you call Charlie and ask him. I know it cleans very well and it contains no perfume.

Anti allergenic, comes in 3 grades... regular to extra mild.....and fragrance free.

7. Do you mean laundry detergent/soap or body soap?

If you're interested in laundry detergent, you might want to try Seventh Generation's Sensitive Care Natural Laundry Detergent, which claims that it's "extra gentle on sensitive skin & fabrics," and has "no enzymes" and is "free of dyes and fragrances." That's what we use around here.

If you're looking for body soap, then I highly, highly recommend Terressentials soaps. They're organic, they're unscented, and they're so mild that even I can use them -- and that's saying something. (Even Dr. Bronner's is too harsh for my very sensitive, hyperallergic skin.)

11. Laundry soap is now the critical issue, Haven't addressed

the bath and dish soap issue yet. Have been using Ivory bar soap and Palmolive for dishes. Will start that search now. I have samples coming from Charlie's, They were very helpful and free with information.

9. Try Orvis soap

It is a soap to clean horses, so can be found in farm supply stores. Quilters found that it works wonderfully on fabrics, and is very gentle. Very economical, you use about a tablespoon per wash load. The last time I bought it, it was a little over $10 for a very large container. You can buy the same product, repackaged in fabric stores, as quilt soap.
