US Research links huge increase in asthma cases with electronic devices,
snip

...children whose mothers had the highest exposure to electromagnetic fields may have three times the risk of developing asthma.

An Australian expert says that doesn't mean magnetic fields actually cause asthma but the link does warrant more research, as Simon Lauder reports.

SIMON LAUDER: Fifteen years ago Dr De-Kun Li and his team from the Californian research institute Kaiser Permanente monitored the level of exposure hundreds of pregnant women had to electromagnetic fields.

snip

DE-KUN LI: What we found was if woman's PMF (pulsed magnetic fields) exposure during pregnancy they're higher, and that their children will have 3.5 times the risk of asthma compared to the children whose mothers' PMF exposure is at the lowest 10 percentile.

1. Those families with the most electronic devices, were also those
families with good incomes. That means that their homes were clean, you know to impress the Jones when they threw dinner parties and such.

The electronic devices were a correlation, not in any way a cause of the asthma.

2. I seriously doubt we'll see further research which corroborates this. nt

5. I've been reading for a long time
that asthma is positively correlated to having lots of cockroaches in the environment (meaning inner city poor, in many cases) and that cockroach excrement or dust seems to be a trigger.

In reality, most illnesses do not have just one trigger, or even one main trigger, but some interaction of genetics and environment is at work.
