Well, it’s been a bit hectic this week, to say the least.

I think we deserve something fun, something uplifting, something affirmative.

So, I would like to invite everyone to post some pics of your pets, or any great animal pics of cats, dogs, hippos, mice or any cool critter pics.

For starters, LOL cats is fun. When I figure out how to post our beloved cat's and dog's pics I’ll post them.

In the meantime, surely we have some adorable GLBT furry family pics out there....hmmm? :toast:

We have 2 dogs and 4 cats and care for four of my elderly mothers cats. Her four live in our catterie but they get plenty of love and play time our four cats are our indoor cats.

Our Dogs: One loving male pitbull (without lipstick)and a beuatiful female brindle mix pup from the Humane
and four pussy cats inside (1 female and three males) all rescue cats.

Our little pit- we adopted from a reputable home, he is around 10 years old now and a loving middle aged little gentlelman with floppy ears and is very loving and intelligent.

20. Here are our three hellhounds

Toby, Stellaluna and Hazel. They are for marriage equality for all.

22. Oh-ma-gosh! What a beautiful family!!

Look at those faces. Although Stellaluna has that "look" on her face. Something has her attention. LOL.

We have now added a stray outdoor cat, who we are now feeding as it is getting very cold. A little dark brown calico.

24. We also have three cats.

Earl, a big brown tabby, and Bubba, the Prince of Darkness, and his sister Jolene, the Queen of the Underworld. Both are short-haired black kitties, although Bubba got the Siamese genes, being long and lanky (and vocal). Jolene is cobbier, built more like a Russian Blue. She's shy and spends most of her time in the basement (hence her name). I'll post pics at some point. All of our critters are rescues. Stellaluna was actually dumped over the fence into our yard on 1/3/2000, when she was about three months old-- still had her baby teeth. We kept her and it couldn't have turned out better for all concerned. She is very sweet-tempered and kind of acts like Mom to all the little ones, including the cats.

our little stray kitten-cat is doing well, living in a nest in the garage. We can't get near her and if we humane trap her then what? I am afraid no one will adopt her, our Humane is not a no kill shelter so...we'll keep feeding her.

She's a Wheaten/mini-Schnauzer cross, about 45lbs. She's very sweet except with strangers -- we got her at 1.5yrs old with serious behavioral probs thanks to her first owner locking her in the kitchen all the time and she never got proper socialization. But she warms up to strangers, she's just not that great with kids.

Dora is HillbillyBob's assistance partner -- a seizure detector; Ashley-Marie is my buddy and farmgirl; Callie is The Baby and know how to work it :D

would stand at the back door and yell for us to come in. She could plainly see my brother and me, but she'd call the whole roll: her kids, her grandkids (there were a pile), and get down to the greats (an even bigger pile), with about a half-syllable of each name. "Jim-, Pal, Bob-, Kit-, uh, ..." until she'd get down to us, madder'n hell because we'd ignore her (pore thang) until she got down to the right names, if ever. She was a fine, upstandin' Suthren Babdist and would never cuss, no matter how much we pushed her. She'd always greet us with the same thing: "Wheah've ye been, y'fool? I've a great mind t'weah y'out!" as if we'd been ten miles instead of ten feet away.

Now, my three girls play the same trick on me. I still see all the ones who've gone before, like shadows out of the corner of my eye. I still "feel" them, like that strong, unconditional love never leaves. And yeah, these furbabies must Know Something, because that same trick I used to torment my great-grandmother with has come back to haunt me. I stand at the back door, watching them happily play chase in their yard when it's time to come it as I call the roll: "Bud-, Bo-, Pea-, dammit, y'all gitcher fuzzy butts inside, it's comin' a cloud!" I'm not the fiiiine upstandin' Suthren Babdist great-granny was, by any imagining, but involuntarily and irresistibly, the words come tumbling from my lips: "Wheah've ye been, y'fools? I'm liable t'weah y'uns out!"

They come in with their tongues lolling in a doggy grin like they know the Karmic joke's been turned. Y'can't help but laugh.

53. This is my old gecko. I was thinking about using her as the mascot for my leatherworking website

hence why I took a picture of her perched on a black leather bracer with chains wrapped around it. :P



Unfortunately she has since gone to the happy bug hunting grounds in the sky, and my webhost (*&%ed up and let my domain name lapse and some internet vulture bought it before I could rectify the situation. So I have neither the gecko nor the website anymore. :(

It's a wonderful way to cap off a day on the DU GLBTQ forum and everyone is invited to add their own pets or other fun critter pics. For many of us, our furry and feathered friends are our little family.

We now have two dogs, eight cats (four from my elederly mom), two outdoor stray/abandoned pussy cats we feed by leaving food in the garage, where we have made a straw lined nest for them, extra food for the foraging possum that sneaks in, as well, plus we have tons of seed out for the birds and squirrels in our backyard.

And we have a flock of lake gulls that we feed daily, they know us and look forward to our arrival and we have a couple of amputees in the flock that we know on sight (those little spindly legs are vulnerable it seems), so this little flock is pretty stable and thriving and seems to like cat pellets and old bread.

I guess my partner and I are just fond of nature and derive a lot of joy from these little creatures.

but living in the city has it's limits,I can certainly understand that. I used to have little schnauzers back when I was a city mouse. They fit just right.

I note Fredrick is a big guy, so he probably needs room to run, another big dogger might be a tad much.

Ashley-Marie II (she picked the name herself). She has grown into a wonderful big sis for her babybuddy. She's my babybuddy, my velcro-dog, farmer-girl who loves riding in the pickup and following the lawn-tractor as if it were a horse.


The baby, Callie, aka Callalily. She is such a cuddly teddybear. What a change from the scared, flinching creature she was just a year ago. She has really bloomed into a beautiful, loving creature.
