Go on vacation to Spain three months before a vote on the Briggs Initiative?

Geoff Kors, executive director of Equality California, said he would not be in attendance at the dinner because he'll be on vacation in Spain for a two-week trip that's been planned for a year. He said he did not think the dinner boycott would impact his working with HRC on the amendment fight.

1. Yes, we do need solid leadership.

Preferably, more than one person. We need a team of leaders. Is there anything we can do to propose this idea to everyone and work on it?

2. What I find amazing in this Prop 8 discussion

Is the lack of self-reflection. All the finger-pointing is being directed at everyone except the LGBT community. It's embarrassing. The only way we can change future votes is to re-build a movement.

Organize locally, so when things like Prop 8 or Prop 2 rear their ugly heads, we already have an established network to tap into.

Why is it that we never organize until bad shit happens? It always struck me as weird and counterproductive.
