Does anyone think Senator Feinstein's opposition to Prop 8 will have any affect?
It seems the top level political estabishment in California is against this. Schwarzenegger, Boxer...and now Feinstein.

1. Nobody likes Di-Fi anymore on the left OR the right.
The reich-wing think she's a far-left loon, and the Liberals think know she's a sell-out traitor.

5. Au contraire
Folks in the middle love Di Fi. She's actually California's most reliably popular politician.

This ad is a huge, good and welcome development.

2. Might help. Probably can't hurt.
Nice of her to be so out in front on the issue though...I mean, a week before the election and NOW she's against this?

6. She's the epitome of leadership.
This gay California voter would like to thank Senator Feinstein for waiting until the last possible minute to get on the right side of history. It was the least she could do. Literally.

12. For all the good it did us...
C'mon Ronny, Feinstein hasn't exactly been out front leading the opposition to Prop. 8 -- she's played it as safe as all the other top tier Democrats. At least she got that commercial going on Monday, during the last week before the election...

Let's not blame the Democratic machine here in California for screwing this up, let's blame the "No on 8" camp? No thanks, the Democratic party could have done a hell of a lot more for us than they did.

7. I think it'll help. As does Shriver's opposition. I welcome the support.

Wish there was some constitutional pundit out there with an audience that could make the point that rewriting the State Constitution by a popular vote is a bad idea, in and of itself.

And that the *exact* role of the State Supreme Court is to rule on the constitutionality of State law.

11. Her opposition will have no affect. whatsoever.
By now, people's minds are made up on this issue. I can't believe she took so long to oppose Prop 8. I'm not a big fan of hers and hope that a viable democratic candidate runs against her when she is up for re-election. She's been in Washington for too long. The Senate is not supposed to be a career position. We need new blood representing CA.
