Why are no African Americans in the no on 8 ads?
We are losing that demographic by about 20 points and we have no ads aimed toward it. Surely some African American politician could be recruited for an endorsement ad. Maxine Waters, Ron Dellums, Willie Brown to name three. We need to get this turned around or we may well lose.

1. Issues relating to gays have their own dynamic among black voters. nt

2. all the more reason for us to target them
We have nearly all young, white folk in these ads and no blacks at all. That is a recipe for us losing that vote by a huge margin which could cost us the overall vote.

4. Exactly
There should be ads targeted to the African American community and the No On 8 folks should be highlighting people like Maxine Waters, John Lewis, Peter Gomes etc and PUTTING THEM IN THE CHURCHES TO TALK ABOUT THIS.

5. I'd like to mention www.andmarriage4all.org; an African-American organization supporting equality.
And Marriage 4 All isn't Maxine Waters or Willie Brown but it offers an insight into this question here in Northern California. Many in this forum will appreciate their efforts.

6. that's great
looks like a really good grass roots effort.

There should also be, imho, a concerted media barrage on African American radio and spots on local television. I know many GLBT people of color are getting their friends and families involved and educated, but they need help with a well financed media effort.
