Turns out they 'promoted' me to Section Leader. I was with the People of Color Contingent.

So in 90 degree weather I was running around all over 5th avenue with my walkie-talkie, trying to keep 10 different groups together.

It was SO MUCH FUCKING WORK!!

Thankfully by the time we hit 14th street, it started POURING!!! I felt terrible for the elaborately dressed drag queens, but terribly happy for myself!!!

If you ever get a chance to volunteer for a rally/march/parade you should do it. Despite being exhausted it was exhilarating to do something positive for my community, keep us safe from harm, and make us a visible presence!!

I hope people will send me pics, but I was entirely too busy to have any pics of me taken.

My GF and best friend marched with my main group, South Asian Lesbian Gay Association. It was very cute, because at one point they were carrying the SALGA banner, even though both of them are white!

1. I marched last year in Boston's Pride parade ...
I was a "Chair Bear" synchronized lawn chair marcher.

I didn't do it this year, maybe next year.
