Ledger Mystery Deepens, Woman Made 2 Calls To Actress Before Calling 911
(New York City) A massage therapist who discovered a lifeless Heath Ledger in his Manhattan apartment made her first call to Mary-Kate Olsen, according to an in-depth timeline police released Wednesday of the moments surrounding the Australian-born actor's death.

Police said Ledger probably died sometime between 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday of what authorities say may be an accidental drug overdose.

Authorities found six types of prescription drugs in Ledger's apartment, including pills to treat insomnia and anxiety, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. Three of the drugs were prescribed in Europe, where Ledger had been filming recently.

Ledger's housekeeper, Teresa Solomon, arrived at his apartment with her own key and let herself in. At 1 p.m., she went to his bedroom to change a light bulb, and saw Ledger sleeping and heard him snoring. She left the room without thinking anything was wrong.

1. More grotesque stupidity than mystery, I'd say....
Good God... Who on earth would call an Olsen twin rather than 911? :eyes:

2. They called Olsen because her bodyguard is a former EMT
They may have thought he could revive him faster than emergency services could which might have been the case if he hadn't already been dead for many hours.

3. And if the bodyguard had been able to revive him
They would have saved his life AND kept the whole incident out of the news. So there would be no "scandalous" drug overdose. But alas, he was already dead when help arrived.

4. I'm telling you...
when you can't sleep night after night, and one or two pills don't even work.... it can make you desperate.

It just sucks.

5. I'm not so sure
that we'll ever really know what happened. The time line has changed at least twice, iirc and it was first reported that pills were strewn around the apt, now it's reported that there were pills only in bottles and a "strangely folded" $20 bill (which has tested negative for any traces of any drugs). As I first read this 911 report I had the same response as most...wtf? But then on reading it again, it could be that he was breathing but unresponsive when the first call was placed to Mary Kate.

Ok, I just read *this* version and it is again "slightly" different than what I read this afternoon from another source, included the omition of the $20 bill. I still think that it seems odd but given the circumstances, his illness and lack of sleep in the past week and being in someone else's home, it may not be all that strange at all. As for a professional massage therapist needing a 911 operator telling her how to do CPR seems a wee bit odd to me. It's just a tragic event and let's just hope that he is out of all of his mental and physical pain and happy. He will be missed...
