Discrimination Probe Against Gay Cops Dropped
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/09/092506ukcops.htm

An investigation of Gay Police Association for allegedly violating Britain's hate speech law has been dropped.

The probe, which could could have lead to criminal charges, revolved around an ad placed by the Association in The Independent newspaper two days before Europride was held in London.

The ad showed a Bible next to a pool of blood under the heading "in the name of the father" and blamed religion for an increase in the number of homophobic hate crimes in the UK.

The investigation began following "a complaint by a member of the public," which later turned out to be a Catholic police officer in London.

1. This is exhibit A for why I am against these speech codes
There is no way in Hell that would be the common place use of such a code here.

2. I would apologise, but...
"The ad showed a Bible next to a pool of blood under the heading "in the name of the father" and blamed religion for an increase in the number of homophobic hate crimes in the UK."

Thats absolutly correct and if they can blame AIDS on the Gay community, then with out restriction they can say that religion is to blame for homophobia, because it is.
