Safe Schools NC may close, please help

Melissa Weiss, the executive director of Safe Schools NC which is the only state-wide non-profit working to stop LGBT harrassment and discrimination in NC public schools, has decided to resign from her position. Two members of our current board want to keep Safe Schools NC going, but require additional board members and a replacementexecutive director.

This is an informal call to NC's LGBT community and our allies ... is there enough interest and the people-power to keep this non-profit afloat? If not,Melissa will fold the organization effective Jan. 1
2007.
