Going to Meade, Kansas!

Well, this weekend is going to be an exciting one. We got word that MTV, LOGO, BBC, Fred Phelps and the Patriot guard are going to be there and probably more as this heats up. Our state board meeting is this Sunday so we decided to change locations and most of our state board will be traveling to Meade to support the Knights and their Bed and Breakfast. We had been planning our next month's meeting there but since everything started heating up we are going this month so they will not have to deal with whatever may come without a big load of support.

I am so looking forward to this trip, I have been wanting to go but since it is a 6 1/2 hour drive I was not certain I would get there until next month. Here is hoping that our staying there and eating there and munching during our meeting (they are providing us the space to have our meeting) will help them get back some of what they have lost.

I am so excited. This is exactly what the Kansas Equality Coalition was formed to do and we are going to do it.

2. Good for you. I sent them a check a couple of weeks ago and

they cashed it immediately so I guess they needed the funds.

This past weekend I was with my extended family (all are currently from central Kansas or have Kansas roots) and they were talking about this situation. All of them are republicans but none of them are conservative. To a person they were embarrassed and angry about this stink that has been created. They are embarrassed by Phelps and were embarrassed by the Kansas School Board creationism junk.

I don't know what they said when I left the room but, honestly, I don't think anything - my nieces and nephews would not allow it.

3. This is great news! I'm happy KEC is doing this . . . if only Kansas was

a little closer to California....I'd be there for support..........and to drop a hand full (or six) of nails under the tires of Phelps!! :bounce:
