7. A bear ate my tennis shoe

When I was a kid, we were in yellowstone park. we left the car to spelunk in a stream. I didn't want to tie my shoes, so had just tucked in the laces.
suddenly, my sister says "run!" and I turn around and a mother bear is chasing us, as we found out later, because we were too close to her cub (which we didn't see). In my haste, my sneaker flipped off and flung behind me. The mother bear and the baby grabbed my shoe and started tussling with it. We scrambled back to the car.
My dad, with his ever=present super8mm camera recorded it all.

like, dad, do ya think ya coulda put the camera down, for once? sheesh.
