(Brampton, Ontario) The wife of one of 10 men accused of plotting terrorist attacks in Ontario has been outspoken in opposing LGBT rights in Canada.

She and her husband are members of a small suburban mosque where a member described her as quiet but said that she had participated in several demonstrations against homosexuality.

In 2003 she and other Muslim women from the Toronto area joined thousands of Catholic and evangelical Christians to demonstrate against same-sex marriage on Parliament Hill, he said. The year before she appeared on behalf of the Toronto District Muslim Education Assembly to denounce a plan by the Toronto District School Board to teach a course on human sexuality that included lessons on LGBT diversity.

Jamal told the board that the course would indoctrinate students on homosexuality news accounts from the day reported.

In 2000 she appeared at a rally organized by her group at the Ontario Legislature to condemn the provincial government for being too gay positive.

They are accused of being part of a home-grown terrorist cell. All are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. They were arrested in a sting operation mounted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in which they bought three tons of fertilizer which authorities say was to be turned into bombs.
