OUTSpoken Families Toolkit is Now Available

The Toolkit is Coming!



The OUTSpoken Families Speaker’s Toolkit is hot of the presses and is now being sent to all of the OUTSpoken Families – nationwide!

One of the initiatives of Family Pride’s Real Families, Real Facts public awareness campaign is OUTSpoken Families, a Speaker’s Bureau made up of over 200 families from all across this country. Our goal is to make LGBT-headed families more known by having them be more vocal and visible in their communities. OUTSpoken Families will be speaking to legislators, faith communities, the media and community and civic organizations over the next year.

We know that many parents have never had a problem speaking on behalf of their family’s safety and well-being with passion. This toolkit is designed to focus that incredible passion by honing our collective stories into cohesive, persuasive messages, all backed up with credible facts and research. Real families, real facts.



What are you supposed to do with it?

The OUT Spoken Speaker’s Toolkit is comprehensive (and is for both beginners and seasoned activists). It is meant to be used. There are exercises, examples and worksheets that we want you to write in, write about and take with you. The toolkit will prepare you to create your own community meeting, speak to the press and even includes tips for getting your children involved in the fight for LGBT family equality.
