It's not LGBT-specific at all, but as a gay person completely alienated by the rank-and-file DLC position, the very fact that this question has even been asked (and on DU, no less) -- what are the DLCers willing to compromise? -- amazes me:

The thread may sink like a stone, or it may erupt into something big; I'm going to keep an eye on it in the hope it grows -- and that it will help me to get a handle on exactly what we're up against (i.e., the DLC mindset).

I wonder if the fact it's been asked at all means the DLCers are concerned about a "bolt from the party" by any non-DLC faction? Of course, this is pure conjecture, and the whole thing could mean absolutely nothing. But you may want to keep an eye on it.

There can be no more compromises, where even one American's Constitutional rights are at stake. If that document doesn't protect all of us, it protects none of us.
