GOP formula for success? When in doubt, bash the gays
Last week, a subcommittee in the U.S. Senate voted along party lines to forward the Marriage Protection Amendment to the full Senate Judiciary Committee.

Hmmm. What do you suppose brought that on?

Well, the move came one day after the Republican Party lost a gubernatorial race in red state Virginia and every Republican on a Pennsylvannia school board who had supported "intelligent design" were replaced with Democrats.

The move is a lame offering to a restless political base. It's also aimed at distracting the public and disrupting Democratic Party plans to capitalize on GOP missteps in the 2006 mid-term elections.
